Recently, CCECC(China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CRCC) signed a business contract of a multi-track railway project with Bangladesh Railway Company. The project runs across the Jamuna River which is the largest river in Bangladesh. It is an important part of the main line of the Pan Asian Railway Network in Bangladesh as well as the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor. It is also confirmed as the national key project of the “Seventh Five Year Plan” by the Bangladesh government. The main construction content of the project is to build a new track railway compound line along the existing gauntleted track railway, drawn by diesel engine. The construction period of this project is 4 years with the contract amount of 1.29 billion dollars.
