The signing ceremony
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) have signed an agreement to build a new ring road in the Tanzanian capital Dodoma. The agreements were signed on July 10 between the Tanzania National Roads Agency CEO Patrick Mfugale, on behalf of the government of Tanzania, and representatives from CCECC and AVIC.
CCECC will construct 52.3 kilometres of the road for 100.8 billion Tanzanian shillings (US$43.5 million) within 39 months, while AVIC Intl Project Engineering will construct 60km of the road for 120.86 billion Tanzanian shillings within 43 months.
Isack Kamwelwe, Minister of Works, Transport and Communications, says the construction of the Dodoma City outer dual-carriageway ring road will help boost the local economy.
It is one of several projects to improve the east African country's infrastructure under the framework of Tanzania's Vision 2025 initiative.
