On April 15th, Lagos Rail Mass Transit(LRMT) Red Line Project(Phrase I) ground breaking ceremony was held in Lagos, which is the biggest city in Western Africa. Lagos Rail Mass Transit(LRMT) Red Line Project(Phrase I) is constructed by CCECC Nigeria Limited. The multiple stations set up along the alignment intersect with the existing bus terminal in Lagos State and the Lagos-Ibadan Railway Stations under construction. Meanwhile, train stations will also lead to Lagos Airport, realizing the “road, railway and air” dimensional transportation network of Lagos State in the near future, which will greatly alleviate the traffic pressure and improve the efficiency of urban road traffic in the central area of the Mainland of Lagos, which is famous for its congestion.
Sanwo-Olu pointed in his speech, transportation infrastructure is an important factor in improving people's quality of life, and is the pillar and main economic driving force of social and economic development. The state government is determined to improve the infrastructure to make it easier for Lagosians and travellers, and it will also promote economic development. Thanks to CCECC for its continuous contribution to the infrastructure construction of Lagos.
The representative of CCECC Nigeria Limited said, since entering Nigerian market in 1981, CCECC has consistently adhered to "growth with Nigeria" for 40 years, provided high-quality infrastructure construction for Nigeria. Thanks to the Lagos State Government for its long-term trust in CCECC, CCECC will live up to its expectations and hand over a satisfactory answer to the Lagos state government and their great people.
LRMT Red Line Project(Phrase I), which is the second light rail after the execution of Blue Line by CCECC Nigeria Limited, was awarded to CCECC in Lagos State. Since the construction of the Blue Line, the builders of CCECC have exerted the entrepreneurial spirit of “diligence, integrity, and perseverance” to steadily impel the project construction. Especially since the epidemic broken out last year, the project team has overcome various challenges and persisted "Production and Epidemic Prevention" grasped both hands, which won the high affirmation of the Lagos state government.
"I hope that the project will be completed as soon as possible, so it will be convenient for us to go out." Local resident Aliemi said at the groundbreaking ceremony.
