CRCC Signs Major Project in Saudi Arabia
Date: 2025-05-09

CRCC has recently finalized a $1.13 billion contract with Diriyah Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), for the King Saud University (KSU) infrastructure and relocation project.

Located in northwest Riyadh, this project represents a critical component of the Diriyah masterplan. The overall scope of the contract is for the design, construction and relocation of KSU Utilities & Administration Offices, as well the construction of a district cooling plant; water storage facilities; sewage treatment plant; LPG/SNG plant; diesel transfer pumping station; a utility tunnel; irrigation water storage tanks; office buildings, warehouses, and maintenance workshops.

A standout feature of the project is the construction of a state-of-the-art underground utility corridor that sets new global industry standards in technical sophistication and construction challenges. This 1.7-kilometer tunnel, measuring 20 meters in width, will integrate multiple utility systems—including district cooling, medium-temperature hot water, stormwater management, sewage, and water supply—into a single coordinated network. This innovative approach effectively eliminates traditional problems of intersecting utilities and maintenance conflicts.

The implementation of this project establishes pioneering technical standards and design approaches for future large-scale underground development projects throughout Saudi Arabia.

This contract marks CRCC's latest major project in Saudi Arabia, following its successful work on the NEOM tunnel and Jeddah Stadium, representing a significant advancement in the company's strategy to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia's premium construction market.
