Construction has recently begun in full force at the Midea refrigerator production base in Egypt's Sadat City. Chinese construction teams from CRCC are working alongside more than 260 Egyptian employees to carry out earthwork excavation, drainage pipeline installation, and steel structure fabrication.

The facility covers approximately 63,000 square meters and includes manufacturing plants, dining halls, residential buildings, and various supporting infrastructure. As a flagship project in China-Egypt cooperation, this manufacturing base is expected to significantly boost Egypt's manufacturing sector and drive local economic growth.

Since securing the contract in January, the CRCC project team has carefully monitored critical construction phases while addressing numerous challenges, including language barriers, cultural differences, labor and material shortages, and cross-border resource management. They have continually refined their construction approach to ensure smooth progress.

Beyond construction goals, this model project of China-Egypt collaboration is dedicated to enhancing the skills of the local workforce. Throughout the construction phase, the project aims to hire between 800 and 1,000 local workers, offering skills development through mentorship programs and evening training sessions.

Once completed, this modern manufacturing facility on the banks of the Nile in Sadat City will serve as a new engine for Egypt's economic and social advancement.
