CCECC South Pacific Ltd base in Papua New Guinea handed over the re-constructed Tari Airport to the government. The project was hailed as a tribute project to the 45th Independence Anniversary of PNG as the event happened to coincide with the 45th Independence Day of the country.
The first flight landed successfully carrying delegates to the event, the Prime Minister of PNG, Hon. James Marape, President of National Airports Corporation, President of the National Petroleum, President of National Mines, and members of the media. During the completion ceremony, Prime Minister Hon. James Marape expressed his gratitude to CCECC for the quality and timely delivery of the project, despite all the challenges they faced.
The successful completion and opening of the runway at Tari Airport has significantly reduced the cost and time of travel for local people as they do not have to spend an extra day traveling to other provinces to take flights.
