Tanzania Kijazi Interchange Project, implemented by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), has officially been completed and opened to traffic. The inauguration ceremony was held on 24th February 2021 in Dar es Salaam, the biggest city in Tanzania.
At the ceremony, President of Tanzania John Magufuli expressed his gratitude to Chinese and Tanzanian participants for timely and successfully completing the project. He said that the construction of Kijazi Interchange will significantly relieve traffic congestion and bring convenience for local people.
Managing Director of CCECC East Africa Limited Zhang Junle said, the construction of the project not only improve the traffic condition, but also create nearly one thousand job opportunities. CCECC will participate in construction of local infrastructure positively and sustainably, pumping energy to the development of economy in Tanzania.
Located at the intersections of many main roads in Dar es Salaam, Kijazi Interchange is the first interchange project under the guidance of Tanzania Government. The project was launched in May 2017. It mainly includes a three-level-interchange and auxiliary bypass roads, among which the main flying bridge is 700-meter-long with the maximum height of 17.5 meter.
